Compare What You Ordered, What Shipped, and What You Were Billed
A fresh produce purchase can look correct when the order is placed and still produce a problem later. The shipping document may show different quantities or attributes. The supplier invoice may carry a different price. A freight or service invoice may differ from the expected cost.
SLAKPI gives U.S. fresh produce businesses a workflow for comparing those documents with the purchase record, surfacing differences and letting a person decide how each discrepancy should be resolved before the financial workflow continues.
Start every document check from the purchase record
The purchase order provides the commercial reference for supplier-document control.
SLAKPI uses the PO when comparing shipping documents and supplier invoices, which keeps the document review connected to what the business actually ordered rather than treating each uploaded file as an isolated document.
The PO itself—its lifecycle, adjustments, supplier context and landed-cost construction—is owned by the purchasing and landed-cost workflow.
Check the BOL against what was ordered
When a bill of lading (BOL) or other supported shipping document is added to the purchase workflow, SLAKPI reads the document and compares its relevant header and line information with the PO.
The comparison surfaces the result for review. Fields can be identified as OK, Discrepancy or Resolved, so the user can focus on the differences instead of manually comparing two documents line by line.
Quantity, price and product-attribute differences remain visible to the person reviewing the transaction. Over-delivery situations can also be reviewed and resolved within the document workflow.
The document does not decide the business outcome. It creates the evidence for the human decision that follows.
Compare supplier and service-provider invoices with the expected record
Supplier invoices can be compared with the corresponding purchase information in a side-by-side review.
SLAKPI also supports comparison of landed-cost invoices, including applicable freight, customs-broker and other service-provider invoices, against the expected landed cost recorded for the transaction.
For an importer, those service documents are part of a broader sequence connecting incoming produce, landed cost, documents and margin. That broader business context belongs to the fresh produce importer workflow.
Turn a discrepancy into a controlled business decision
When a difference is found, SLAKPI presents resolution paths with the financial consequence visible before the decision is applied.
Depending on the situation, the reviewer can choose:
- Supplier Assumes — the difference is assigned to the supplier and can generate the appropriate credit or debit request;
- Company Assumes — the purchase record is adjusted to accept the difference;
- Shared Loss — the difference is shared;
- No Action — the discrepancy is acknowledged without applying a financial change.
The important step is the human decision between detection and financial consequence. Document AI identifies and organizes the difference; the responsible person decides what happens next.
Keep supplier claims connected to the discrepancy that created them
When a resolution requires action from the supplier, SLAKPI can generate a credit or debit request tied to that discrepancy.
Requests can be produced as documents, sent to the supplier and followed through their status. When the supplier returns the corresponding credit or debit note, SLAKPI can read that document and associate it with the pending request when the relationship is clear.
That keeps the claim connected to the original purchase and discrepancy instead of becoming a separate email or spreadsheet item.
Hand verified documents into AP without rebuilding the story
Document control ends when the relevant difference has been reviewed and the resulting document position is ready to continue financially.
From there, AP and connected finance operations owns reconciliation, payable status, payment preparation and the broader financial lifecycle.
This separation matters: the document workflow establishes what agrees, what differs and how the difference was resolved. AP then works from that resolved operational record.
Document AI works inside the workflow, with people in control
SLAKPI's Document AI reads supported business documents, extracts information, compares it with the relevant record and surfaces discrepancies.
Confidence is visible where AI is used, and the workflow keeps human review between the AI output and the business decision. Documents are not silently posted simply because the AI extracted them.
When the evaluation question becomes how AI operates across purchasing, inventory, sales, finance and other workflows—not just supplier documents—continue into AI-enabled fresh produce workflows.
