Turn Produce Availability Into Controlled Customer Sales
Fresh produce sales move faster than a static customer list. A seller needs to know what can be sold now, which customers need attention, what product has already been held, whether the customer can take on the order and what happens after the commitment is made.
SLAKPI connects those decisions for U.S. fresh produce wholesale. Sellers work from current availability, customer activity and reservations, then carry the resulting sales order into credit control, fulfillment and invoicing without separating the commercial conversation from the operational record.
Sell from the product that is actually available
A sales order (SO) starts with the product the business can actually allocate.
SLAKPI's Inventory Picker lets the seller select the specific inventory behind an order. The resulting sales line stays connected to the purchase-order lines that supply it, so product identity and cost context follow the sale instead of being recreated later.
That selling view depends on an upstream inventory record that already distinguishes what exists from what remains available or committed. The deeper authority for those states is inventory availability, reservations and PO-line traceability.
For the seller, the important result is simpler: the customer commitment begins from operational availability rather than from a disconnected quantity or spreadsheet.
Keep the customer relationship tied to what happens next
SLAKPI's CRM organizes both prospects and existing customers around commercial activity.
Sales teams can keep a responsible seller, contacts, logged activities and a next action on the account. Prospecting can be managed as a list or pipeline, while customer activity remains connected to the same company that later appears on orders.
Calls, visits, email, text messages, WhatsApp conversations and other interactions can be logged as CRM activity. A next action can identify what should happen next—such as a call, price list, sample, quote or visit—and overdue actions remain visible.
The CRM therefore answers more than “Who is this customer?” It gives the sales team context for who needs attention, what happened last and what commercial action should follow.
Use customer order rhythm instead of relying on memory
Many produce customers buy on a recognizable schedule.
SLAKPI's order schedule records which weekdays a customer normally orders, with an optional ordering window, contact channel and owner. Today's Calls turns that information into the day's working call list.
Each contact can be closed as:
- Ordered
- No order
- No answer
The result is logged back to the CRM, and unfinished calls can remain visible as follow-up work.
Sales analytics add another signal by showing customer inactivity and historical buying context. That helps the team distinguish a customer who is simply on schedule from one whose normal purchasing activity has changed.
Turn availability into a price conversation and then a commitment
Price lists give sellers a customer-facing view of current product.
SLAKPI builds named price lists from available inventory, grouped by produce attributes such as category, size, grade and organic status. The finished price sheet can be exported as a branded PNG or JPG image for the team to share with customers.
When the commercial conversation becomes a commitment, existing reservations can move into the sales workflow.
A reservation that was created as an inventory commitment can be converted into an order. Multiple active reservations for the same customer can be combined into one sales order, with the seller setting the price, warehouse, shipping terms and seller at conversion.
The inventory meaning of the reservation remains owned by inventory availability and reservation control. Here, the reservation's job is commercial: turning a customer hold into an executable sale without rebuilding the commitment.
Check customer credit at the moment the sale becomes real
Customer credit belongs inside the selling decision, not as an afterthought.
When a sales order is confirmed, SLAKPI checks the customer's current credit status and limit. If the order requires an exception, an authorized AR user can approve the override and that decision is recorded.
This is the commercial boundary of customer credit: Can this order be confirmed for this customer now?
Once the order becomes an invoice and the question changes to outstanding balance, credit usage, overdue receivables, statements or the broader financial position, the authority becomes accounts receivable and connected finance operations.
Keep changes controlled after confirmation
A confirmed order can still change, but the original commitment is not silently rewritten.
From Confirmed onward, changes are recorded through adjustments. If quantities are reduced after the order has been Sent, SLAKPI requires the affected units to be handled as Reintegrate—returning them to stock—or Loss.
That keeps the commercial record connected to the operational consequence of the change.
When an order change affects an already issued customer invoice, the financial consequence continues into accounts receivable and connected finance operations rather than being resolved inside the selling workflow.
Carry the sale into fulfillment and delivery without changing ownership
The sales order creates the commitment. Physical execution comes next.
For customer pickup and warehouse preparation, the deeper workflow is warehouse operations and fulfillment. That page owns the physical work required to prepare, receive, transfer and release product.
For Delivered orders, the sales order becomes a pending delivery and continues into delivery logistics and driver execution, where routing, delivery evidence and delivery results are handled.
The sales workflow remains the commercial source throughout that handoff. The warehouse and delivery workflows execute what was sold; they do not replace the order that created the commitment.
Sell and follow up from the field
Sales work does not have to stop at the desktop.
The SLAKPI mobile app supports sales orders, reservations, CRM activity, customer call schedules and price lists. Sellers can work with the same customer and product context while they are away from the office.
Ava can also execute supported sales-order and reservation tasks. The user reviews the proposed action and confirms it before the transaction is written.
The result is a selling workflow that connects customer activity to real produce commitments without separating CRM from the orders that follow.
